Healthy Chocolate Nut Shake


Yep, you read that title right and you're not dreaming; a healthy chocolate nut shake - what drink could possibly sound more enticing? This shake is packed full of healthy fats, carbs and protein, and you can even add a scoop of your favourite (preferably natural) protein powder if you want an extra post-workout boost. Creamy and rich with a hint of peanut butter (or other nut butter of your choice), this heavenly beverage really does have it all. I added maca powder to mine for an extra source of energy and nutrients but if you don't have any then don't worry at all, it's not necessary!





Ingredients
Serves 1
  • 2 medium fresh or frozen bananas (frozen will yield a thicker shake)
  • 1 cup milk of choice 
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter (or any other nut butter of your choice)
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder (cocoa powder will work fine too!)
  • 1/2 tsp maca powder (optional)


Method

Simply put all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth - transfer the shake into a glass or mason jar and enter chocolate heaven!
